Now I know its still not Dia De Los Muertos(Day Of the Dead) but I thought I post it early. =w=;
 If you do not know what this day is about please read below.
~English :iconenglandplz:

The Day of the Dead is a Mexican celebration that honors the ancestors during November 2 , coinciding with the Catholic celebration of All Souls Day . Although seen primarily as a Mexican holiday , also celebrated in many communities in the United States where there is a large Mexico -American population , and to a lesser extent is also celebrated in some parts of Latin America .

Despite being a morbid topic , this holiday is celebrated joyfully , and though it occurs on dates close to the Day of All Saints , and All Souls Day , instead of being afraid of evil spirits , the mood on the day of the dead is much more relaxed , similar to Halloween, with a greater emphasis on celebrating , but honoring the lives of the deceased.

The origins of the celebration of the Day of the Dead in Mexico , can be traced to the time of the Indians of Mesoamerica , such as the Aztecs , Mayans, Purepecha , Nahua , and Totonac . Rituals celebrating the lives of ancestors were made by these civilizations for at least the past 3,000 years. In the prehispanic era it was common practice to keep skulls as trophies and display them during the rituals to symbolize death and rebirth.

 The festival that became the Day of the Dead fell in the ninth month of the Aztec Solar Calendar , near the beginning of August, and was celebrated for an entire month. The festivities were presided over by the god Mictecacihuatl , known as the "Lady of Death" (now corresponds with " Catrina " ) . The festivities were dedicated to the celebration of children and the lives of deceased relatives

When the Spanish conquistadors arrived in America in the fifteenth century , they were terrified by the pagan practices of the natives, and in an attempt to convert Native Americans to Catholicism moved the festival to start dates in November to coincide with the Catholic holidays of all Saints Day and all Souls. The All Saints Day is the day after Halloween, where the latter was also a pagan ritual of Samhain , the Celtic feast day of the dead. The Spanish customs of Halloween combined with Mesoamerican similar festival , thus creating Day of the Dead .

 Close to this celebration is the feast of All Saints , All Saints Day , religious holiday celebrated in many countries of Christian tradition . In Catholic countries , is celebrated on November 1 , while in the Orthodox Church on the first Sunday after Pentecost. It revere all saints who have no own party in the church calendar . By tradition is a non-working holiday .

There are versions that said this date was established as a response to the pagan celebration of October 31 . But these versions are not very robust because the celebration of " Halloween" or " Day of the Witches " is a holiday from the United States of America. In Spain , within the Catholic tradition where lie is visiting loved ones . In Catalonia celebrates castanyada called where you eat sweet potatoes , chestnuts and panellet . In Mexico they make offerings to honor the dead and celebrate these two days , which are removed on day 2 at night , being able to eat at that time.
